Fresh clashes in Nawalparasi
There are reports of fresh clashes between security forces and Maoist rebels near Arunkhola in the western district of Nawalparasi, security officials told Nepalnews.
According to the officials at the army headquarters, the clashes started Thursday morning when the Maoists attacked the security troops. The forces were dispatched to the location to clear the road blocked by the insurgents recently.
Officials said that additional troops have been dispatched to the site to locate the rebels.
“Though details of the incident are still being awaited, a few rebels are suspected killed in the exchange of gunfire while some on our side are reported injured in the clashes,” the officials said. nepalnews.com pd Aug 11 05
