British envoy meets UML gen secy
British ambassador to Nepal, Keith George Bloomfield, met CPN (UML) general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal at the latter’s residence at Koteshwor Thursday morning.
During the meeting, Nepal and the British envoy discussed at length the current political situation in the country as well as the future moves of the seven agitating political parties, according to a statement issued by the secretariat of the UML general secretary.
The general secretary told Bloomfield that a strong popular movement is the only resort to restore democracy and resolve the conflict dogging the country. They also discussed the recent 12-point agreement between the seven-party alliance and the Maoists.
Bloomfield on his part reminded that the United Kingdom would continue to stand in favour of peace and democracy in Nepal. nepalnews.com mk Dec 22 05
