Three killed in Rolpa clash
At least three persons – one security man and two Maoists - were killed in an armed clash between the security forces and the insurgents in the mid-western district of Rolpa Monday.
The clash erupted when a group of Maoists opened fire on a regular patrol of the security forces at Dumla area this afternoon, a press statement issued by the Directorate of Public Relations (DPR) said, confirming that a security person was killed in the encounter.
Meanwhile, issuing a joint statement, the commissar of the 5th division of the Maoists’ People’s Liberation Army (PLA), Sudarshan, and “central base area” in-charge, Biplab, confirmed two deaths on their side, claiming that six security men were killed in the gunbattle.
