Maoist killed in clash

A Maoist insurgent was shot dead by the security forces during a search in Shree Gaon area in Dang district on Monday, the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) said Tuesday.

A statement issued by RNA’s Directorate of Public Relations (DPR) said the Maoist named Bibash Thapa was killed when the security forces opened fire after he lobbed hand grenades on them.

Hand grenades and Maoist documents were recovered from the deceased, DPR added.

Meanwhile, the security forces seized two guns, 150 socket bombs and a large quantity of food grains, clothing and Maoists documents in Thawang area of the mid-western district of Rolpa on Sunday, according to the DPR. nepalnews.com mk Dec 27 05
