NHRC probe team visits Nagarkot
A team of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) visited Nagarkot on Wednesday as part of its investigation into the killing of 12 civilians by an army man in Nagarkot, Bhaktapur, two weeks earlier.
The team comprising NHRC members Sudeep Pathak, Sushila Singh Silu, Gokul Pokhrel and Ram Dayal Rakesh enquired about the incident with the local residents, victims’ family members and the head of the army barrack in Nagarkot.
An NHRC team is investigating into the horrible killings on the night of December 14 during a local fair. A source at the commission said the probe team is set to disclose its findings next week.
A judicial investigation committee formed by the government and a team of Royal Nepalese Army are also probing the incident separately. nepalnews.com mk Dec 29 05
