Four children rescued in India- brief
Indian police has rescued four Nepalese children subjected to torture in India and brought them back to Nepal.
The children had gone to Mumbai in search of work where they found work in a garment factory, the state run Gorkhapatra daily reported.
The children rescued from India are Nasibul Nadakh of Dhanusha district, Mohammad Rasid Ansari of Mahottari, Ram Singh Chaudhary of Kapilbastu and Bishnu Subedi of Syangja; all of them are 12 years old.
The rescued children complained that their employer neither gave them proper food and clothes nor their salary, instead subjected them to torture.
They said that two years back they went to Mumbai in search of work because of the weak economic condition of their families.
Indian police handed over the children to Nepalese police on Wednesday. Initially, the police had kept them in the temporary rehabilitation centre of ABC Nepal in Bhairahawa.
The police handed over Ram Singh Chaudhary of Kapilbastu to his guardians on Wednesday and preparations are underway to hand over the rest of the children, ABC Nepal stated. nepalnews.com pb Dec 30 05
