Two school children killed in explosion in Dhangadi
Two teenage boys were killed and three others sustained severe injuries when socket bombs carelessly left by Maoists in Pahalmanpur village of far western Kailali district exploded Monday afternoon.
According to reports on Tuesday, the kids-Santosh Poudel and Mohan Neupane-grazing cattle in the jungle, died on the spot when the bomb went off. They were playing with the bombs thinking it to be a plaything.
The three other children inured in the explosion are undergoing treatment in Dhangadi. All victims of the incident were students of Shanti Secondary School.
In the meantime, at least two Maoists were killed in an explosion in Pyuthan. According to reports, the insurgents died as they were planting bombs at Badara along Bagdula-Khalanga road section. nepalnews.com pd July 12 05
