| Foreign Minister to leave for India Monday
In a fence-mending bid, Foreign Minister Ramesh Nath Pandey is leaving for New Delhi, India, for a three-day tour on Monday (March 7).
According to a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued on Saturday, Pandey is scheduled to hold discussion with his Indian counterpart, K Natwar Singh, in New Delhi on March 7. Singh will host a ‘working lunch’ in Pandey’s honour, the statement said.
Pandey will return to Kathmandu on March 9. The ministry, however, gave no details of his visit and the agendas of bilateral negotiation.
The Foreign Minister’s India tour is seen with interest particularly in the context of the Indian criticism against the recent political developments in Nepal. Suggesting early restoration of democratic process, India has declared to put on hold its military assistance to Nepal. nepalnews.com mbk Mar 05 05
