GAESO refutes claims of misappropriating funds
Gorkha Army Ex-Servicemen Organisation (GAESO) has refuted allegations that it has been misappropriating tens of millions of rupees while fighting for equal facilities to the British Gurkhas.
Holding a press conference in the Capital on Tuesday, representatives of GAESO said that they are fighting for the cause of Gorkhas adding, "Those who were against welfare of former Gurkhas are spreading propaganda against them."
Speaking at a press conference GAESO chairman Padam Bahadur Gurung informed that former Gurkhas are receiving more facilities due to the fight of the GAESO.
Refuting claims that GAESO is killing the 15-year-old international campaign for equal treatment, legal Advisor of GAESO Gopal Sibakoti 'Chintan' informed that the case of equal pension is under review at the British parliament and the Court will give verdict in the same case after the decision of the parliament.
GAESO chairman Gurung also said that his organization will continue fight for equal pay and perks despite criticism from opponents.
The Ex-British Gurkha soldiers are fighting for equal pay and perks as of their British counterparts since years.
Earlier, a newly formed United British Gurkha Ex-Servicemen’s Association, Nepal (UBGEAN), has said that GAESO has been misappropriating tens of millions of rupees in the name of fighting for equal facilities to the British Gurkhas. nepalnews.com pb Nov 15 05
