Alliance leaders discuss future strategies
The top leaders of the seven-party alliance met this morning to discuss further strategies of the alliance.
The two hour long meeting held at the residence of Nepali Congress (NC) President Girija Prasad Koirala discussed the ongoing talks with the Maoists, the UML meeting with the Maoists in Rolpa and future strategy to be adopted for making the ongoing agitation of the alliance a success.
However the decisions of the meeting participated by the top leaders of the seven parties was not made public immediately.
The meeting was participated by all top leaders of the alliance except chairman of the Nepal Workers’ and Peasants’ Party Narayan Man Bijukche (Rohit), who is currently out of the valley.
Immediately after the meeting CPN-UML general-secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal, NC leader Krishna Sitaula and acting president of the NC-D Gopal Man Shrestha met detained former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and briefed him about the outcome of the morning discussion.
The meeting of the taskforce of the seven-party alliance scheduled for this evening will decide the future strategy of the alliance.
The meeting of the taskforce is expected to make some decisions regarding probable alliance with the Maoists.
UML General Secretary met former premier Deuba and briefed him about the recent negotiations with the Maoist top brass in New Delhi, India on Monday as well. nepalnews.com pb Nov 22 05
