Maoists attack MI-17 Chopper of RNA
With only a few days remaining to the end of the three month long ceasefire declared by the Maoists, the Maoists have reportedly attacked a MI-17 chopper belonging to the Royal Nepalese Army, at Burasay area of Salyan district.
According to the Directorate of Public Relations (DPR) of RNA, the Maoists opened rounds of fire at the chopper that was ferrying logistics for the army from Nepalgunj at around 10 am.
However, the helicopter escaped with minor damage.
This proves that the unilateral ceasefire declared by the Maoists was strategic and aimed at re-grouping, a statement issued by the DPR added. nepalnews.com pb Nov 29 05
