Fulpati observed
Fulpati, the 7th day of Bada Dashain, was marked Monday in Nepal
by bringing Fulpati (special floral offering) into ‘Dashain
Ghars’ established in households and Durga temples.
In Kathmandu, a special Fulpati function was organised at Tundikhel
this afternoon. His Majesty King Gyanendra, Crown Prince Paras
and Crown Princess Himani graced the ceremony as the hundreds
of ordinary people watched the program from outside the iron fence
around Tundikhel.
Speaker Taranath Ranabhat, ministers and army and police officials
were present on the occasion.
Similarly, the royals also graced the traditional Fulpati ceremony
at Hanumandhoka this evening. As per tradition, Fulpati brought
from Gorkha is established at the Dashain Ghar at Hanumandhola.
His Majesty King and Her Majesty Queen Komal returned to Kathmandu
early today winding up their five-day unofficial tour to the western
region. The royals who visited Kaski, Baglung, Butwal and Gorkha
districts had stayed in Pokhara’s Ratna Mandir.
During the tour, His Majesty gave instructions to representatives
of local bodies, senior administrative and security officials
and interacted with ordinary citizens to acquire information about
their problems and grievances.
