Hospital in Lukla

Pasang Lhamu Academy has constructed a hospital in Lukla, the entrance of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world in the name of first Nepalese women to scale the mountain Pasang Lhamu Sherpa and first Swiss mountain guide Nichol Niki.

The hospital is expected to provide service to mountaineers along with 17 thousand locals of Chaurikharka, Jabing and Walk village development committees.

Speaking at an inaugural program of the hospital on Monday, Niki said the hospital was constructed to fulfill the wish of Sherpa to provide service to poor, disabled, women and children, reports said.

Nichol foundation of Switzerland established in the name of Niki will provide financial and technical assistance to the hospital for five years.

Of the total 75 million rupees, Niki contributed USD 100 thousand for the construction of the hospital.
