Minister yet to furnish reasons for purchasing nationalistic cassettes

Minister for Local Development Khadga Bahadur GC is yet to furnish reasons for directing ministries and departments to purchase nationalistic cassettes, two months after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has asked to do so.

The CIAA started probe on the written directive of Minister GC to the Ministry and its departments to purchase the nationalistic cassettes of singer Ram Prashad Khanal, according to reports.

The CIAA had asked the Minister to furnish reasons for his directives to purchase cassettes and revenue loss incurred from the purchase of cassettes.

The CIAA also asked the ministry to submit details of purchase of the cassettes following the Minister's directive.

Royal appointed Minister GC has asked the officials to answer the queries of CIAA, but the officials were not able to justify his directives before the CIAA till date. nepalnews.com pb Oct 26 05
