Government reshuffles bureaucracy
In a major reshuffle of the bureaucracy, the government Friday
transferred eight secretaries, promoted nine joint secretaries,
and designated five joint secretaries to acting secretaries.
Kumar Prasad Poudel has been promoted appointed secretary of
the Ministry of Communication and Information. Likewise, Chuman
Singh Basnet, Ganesh Kumar KC and Dipendra Bikram Thapa have been
promoted and designated secretaries at the Ministry of Education
and Sports, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and Ministry
of Labor and Transport Management respectively.
Similarly, Sushil Prasad Sharma has been promoted and placed
at the office of the Auditor General, Dolakh Bahadur Gurung at
the Election Commission, Ram Krishna Tiwari at the National Planning
Commission, Yuva Raj Pandey at the Ministry of Local Development
and Ram Chandra Man Shrestha at the Health Ministry.
Likewise, Narayan Prashad Silwal has been transferred to the
Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Secretariat, Soyambhu
Man Amatya to the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation, and
Anant Raj Pandey to the Ministry Environment and Science.
Similalrly, Bal Krishna Prasai, Govinda Prasad Pandey and Tirtha
Raj Sharma Gyawali have been transferred to Home Ministry, Ministry
of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and the Commission for
Investigation of the Abuse of Authority, respectively.
Secretaries Laba Kumar Devkota and Chandi Prashad Shrestha have
been placed at the reserve pool. Similarly, Nabin Kumar Shrestha
has been designated acting secretary at the Foreign Ministry.
Other designated acting secretaries include, Yuva Raj Bhusal
in the Ministry of Land reform and management, Sushil Jung Bahadur
Rana in Public Service Commission, Shital Babu Regmi in the Secretariat
of the Water and Energy Commission, and Krishna Kumar Shrestha
