Over dozen oppn leaders arrested in protest rallies in Kathmandu (3:39 PM)
Over a dozen leaders of the agitating political parties were arrested during protest rallies in central Kathmandu Monday afternoon.
At least 10 leaders including
Nepali Congress central leaders Arjun Narsingh KC, Dr Ram Saran
Mahat and Devendra Raj Kandel were taken into control as a demonstration
led by them tried to enter into prohibited area near Bhotahiti.
Police and demonstrators clashed intermittently but no serious violence took place, our correspondent on site said.
Similarly, police arrested a few leaders and activists from a demonstration at New Road. UML leader Rajendra Pandey was among those arrested from New Road.
