Giving instructions to nominated presidents and vice presidents of eight district development committees of Bagmati zone in Lalitpur Thursday, His Majesty said he wanted them to be aware about this fact.

The monarch did not elaborate.

While visiting the mid-western region last month, King Gyanendra had alleged that anti-social elements were active in Kathmandu and that those taking part in student demonstrations were hired people.

Opposition parties and student bodies refuted such allegations.

An alliance of seven opposition parties has intensified its street protests in the capital for the last few weeks against the royal takeover and calling for restoration of peace and democracy in the country.

King Gyanendra took direct control of the government in February this year by dismissing a coalition government led by premier Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Deuba is now placed under custody on corruption charges. nepalnews.com by Sep 22 05
