At a time when the royal takeover is facing protest from all walks of life, Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Durga Shrestha Sunday said that King is in the mood to move a step ahead.

His Majesty King Gyanendra

Addressing the office chiefs of Parsa district Minister Shrestha said, "His Majesty is not likely to go back, he will move ahead of his February 1 step," adding, "So you must all carry on your work confidently," according to reports.

Saying that the officials now will not have to work under political pressure of parties, she said the environment is favorable for government employees to provide service to the people effectively.

The officials on the occasion also complained that they were perturbed by the frequent visits of the ministers, the report added.

Four Ministers gave direction to the officials in last two weeks. The office chiefs were given similar directives by Assistant Minister for Water Resources Binod Kumar Shah on Friday.

The King on February 1 sacked the coalition government of four political parties led by Sher Bahadur Deuba and formed a cabinet under his chairmanship. nepalnews.com pb sep 26 05
