Maoists abduct students in Okhaldhunga, Taplejung

Maoists have abducted at least 109 students from four schools in Okhaldhunga district. There is information regarding the whereabouts of the students who were abducted a couple of days ago.

It is believed that the Maoists abducted these students to involve them in indoctrination camps, reports said Monday.

Nepal Samacharpatra daily quoted army source as saying that the Maoists have abducted hundreds of students, teachers and civilians from Fakumba, Sanghu, Dhungesanghu, Change, Hapang, Phulbari, Niguradin and other areas of Taplejung district.

These abductions come when the three-month-long unilateral ceasefire declared by the rebel party month is still in effect. nepalnews.com mk Sept 26 05
