Teej being celebrated today

Hindu women are celebrating Haritalika Teej festival, one of the important festivals of Hindu women, across the country Saturday.

According to Hindu scriptures, the day recalls the heavenly occasion when Parvati, daughter of Himalaya, won the hand of Lord Shiva after severe meditation and fasting.
