Even as the government seems to be dithering to take action against big willful defaulters of bank loans, a civil society organization held a public signature campaign against them.

People and Development, an NGO, organized a public signature campaign at New Baneshwore on Sunday. People signed in the banner with slogans such as "Take immediate action against black-listed defaulters" and "Action against defaulters: Duty of state and citizens."

According to Surah Raj Kafle, president of the NGO, the signature will be collected and submitted to the Prime Minister within a week. He said that the campaign aimed at pressuring the black-listed big defaulters to pay back their loans. Around 150 such defaulters owe over Rs 24 billion to banks. nepalnews.com sd Dec 18 06
