DAO lifts curfew in Nepalgunj
The District Administration Office (DAO) Banke lifted the curfew order imposed in Nepalgunj since Tuesday from this morning.
The DAO lifted the curfew order from 10 a.m. today as life in the area is returning to normalcy.
Meanwhile, the Maoists held a goodwill rally in Nepalgunj this morning. Top leaders of seven political parties are expected to join the goodwill rally scheduled for this afternoon.
With large numbers of security forces deployed in the area, there have been no reports of clashes on Thursday.
Since Tuesday, Nepalgunj city has witnessed incidents of violence, looting and arson.
The violence erupted a day after Nepal Sadbhavana Party (NSP-Anandi-devi) imposed Terai bandh on Monday when bandh organizers reportedly used force to shut down shops and transport system. nepalnews.com pb Dec 28 06
