Maoists padlock Biratnagar sub-metropolis
Maoists have padlocked Biratnagar sub-metropolis on Friday protesting the decision of initiating process for new appointments.
Maoist padlocked the office protesting the decision of appointing new employees in sub-metropolis and initiating the process of providing permanent status to temporary staffs until they join the government.
Protesting the Maoist act, staff of the sub-metropolis organized a protest rally in Biratnagar.
The sub metropolis was scheduled to interview 182 people on Friday and Saturday.
A few months ago, the Maoists had disallowed to use the development budget allocated for the sub-metropolitan city. Later they had released the budget after an agreement was reached between the Maoists and seven political parties.
Despite their commitment to join mainstream of politics, Maoists have been continuing their excesses in various parts of the country. nepalnews.com pb Dec 29 06
