Amid rumors doing rounds in the capital on Friday that Prime Minister's health was deteriorating, Koirala spoke to reporters briefly from his hospital bed and said media should disseminate right information at such a critical transitional period.

The 84-year-old Prime Minister said he was staying in the hospital as per the advice of the doctors though he wanted to return to his work immediately. "They said I should remain for more few days in hospital to avoid any hazard on my health," Koirala told state-owned Radio Nepal. He also said that he was feeling better as his health was improving.

This is the first time that Koirala spoke to journalists after he was admitted at the Martyr Gangalal National Heart Center at Bansbari, Kathmandu late Monday.

Meanwhile, a health bulletin published by the National Heart Centre Friday afternoon said health of premier Koirala was improving gradually.

The report said Koirala's lungs and heart had started functioning in their original capacity.

Koirala has been suffering from pneumonia on the lower part of his right lung and reportedly had low oxygen saturation in his blood. nepalnews.com ia July 07 06
