According to reports, LB Thapa, Samjhana Tiwari, Shree Prasad Gurung, Anju Gurung and Man Maya Gurung reached Kathmandu at 10.30 p.m.

Om Prasad Oli stayed back in Mumbai while Aruna Adhikari of Jhapa went to her relatives’ house in New Delhi, the Nepalese Embassy in New Delhi informed.

Talking to journalists at Tribhuvan International Airpor, upon his arrival home, LB Thapa said though there were hundreds of Nepalis in Lebanon, it was difficult to get in touch with them as there was no Nepalese Embassy or agency in Lebanon.

He added that most Lebanese have moved towards safe places leaving the Nepalis working as domestics to look after their houses.

The employers of Anju Gurung and Samjhana Tiwari came to see them off them at the Indian Embassy.

Many Nepalis cannot join the evacuees and cross the Lebanon harbor just as easily. The problem, according to the returnees, is that "most of them are staying there illegally, meaning without valid visa".

Fifty other Nepalis are on their way to India and 10 of them are expected to reach New Delhi on Sunday, reports quoted Charge de Affairs of the Nepalese Embassy in New Delhi, Tara Pokhrel as saying. nepalnews.com pb July 23 06
