Dr Pradhan appointed PU acting chief

Minister for Education and Sports Prof Dr Mangal Siddhi Manandhar appointed Prof Dr Pradip Pradhan as the acting chief of the Purbanchal University (PU) on Tuesday. Pradhan is currently the dean of PU.

He was appointed to the position a day after the education minister held discussion with the agitating students for fulfillment of their various educational demands.

Academic and administrative works of the university have been stalled due to lock out by the students since a month.

The students' demands include resignation of the vice chancellor, registrar and rector, new admissions, running of classes, publication of result and salary of the employees.

The government is also preparing for a five-member committee to submit the report to solve all the problems of the university.
