Govt. tells teachers to go to their schools
The Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) has directed all school teachers in the government-run schools on 'temporary assignments' due to the conflict to report to their proper schools before July 17.
The government had arranged temporary assignments to around 500 teachers in the relatively safe locations such as the capital and the district headquarters on the recommendation of different District Security Committees. Around 100 are on temporary assignments in Kathmandu since the last five years.
The Education Ministry said the decision was made in light of the changed political scenario. The ministry has also said that government may increase the teachers' quota to meet the increasing number of students. nepalnews.com ia Jun 05 06
