Nepse cools down, bullion price also heads south
After two months of impressive growth, the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index seems to have cooled down as it declined by 1.26 points this past week.
The trading at the country's only secondary market had started at 448.69 points on the opening day. When the trading closed on Thursday, the index was down to 447.43 points. A week ago, the index had gained 29.87 points.
Meanwhile, the price of gold has also declined this past week. Triggered by the decrease of oil price in the international market, the price of yellow metal decreased from Rs 17,426 per tola to Rs 17,321 per tola.
According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Traders' Association, the decrease in the price of gold has been caused by decrease in the oil price in the international market as well as positive developments in the international share trading activities. nepalnews.com sd Nov 19 06
