One killed, three missing as jeep plunges into Trisuli River

At least one person was killed and three others went missing when a passenger jeep heading for Lumbini from Kavre district skidded off the road and plunged into the Trisuli River on the Mungling-Narayangadh section of Mahendra Highway in Chitwan district Saturday morning.

Samjhana Lama, 20, of Kavre died on the spot while three others, Sonam Lama, Asmita Lama and Swastika Lama went missing when the Ba 4 cha 325 jeep plunged into the river, reports said.

18 others including the driver were injured in the accident. Some of the seriously injured passengers have been admitted to Bharatpur Medical College for treatment.
