Auspicious time for Tika announced
The Panchanga Nirnayak Samiti has announced that 9:51 am (NST) is the most auspicious time for receiving Tika on the day of Bijaya Dashami on Monday morning.
The Samiti is a committee of leading astrologers who give out auspicious timings based on Nepalese calendar on religious and cultural occasions.
On the day of Bijaya Dashami people receive Tika from their elders. They also receive Jamara (barley shoots) as a sacred Prasad of Goddess Durga. Generally, people try to receive tika from their parents and elders at the most auspicious time. However, people can also visit their relatives and receive tika and blessings throughout the day. For those who cannot visit all of their relatives on the day, they can do so within five days till Purnima. nepalnews.com sd Oct 01 06
