APF enters semis; Morang, Kailali victorious
Armed Police Force (APF) team held Sarlahi 7-0 to enter the semifinal of the All Nepal Ladies Football Championship played at the Dasrath Stadium in Kathmandu Wednesday.
Anu Lama was the real star who scored a hat trick while Jamuna Gurung scored two goals and Tej Gurung and Muna Maharjan struck one goal apiece to ensure the big-margin win. Sarlahi played splendid game till the first 30 minutes but let in a goal in 32nd minute when Anu Lama dribbled as many as three defenders to fire home the lead. Lama completed her hat trick scoring in the 50th and 55th minute respectively.
Similarly, Morang registered its second win in the competition beating Rautahat 3-0. Rupa Magar, Indira Rai and Dipa Adhikari scored one each. The story of the match between Kailali and Banke was different. After locking horns 1-1 at regulation time, Kailali managed to beat Banke 3-1 in a spot kick battle. Manu Nepali put Kailali ahead in the 42nd minute but Niru Thapa canceled the lead in the 73rd minute.
Dhankuta will take on Rupendehi, Panchthar will take on Kanchanpur and Syangjya will face Kathmandu in Thursday's matches. nepalnews.com bt Oct 11 06
