Japanese assistance for Sub Health Posts
The Government of Japan has pledged a grant of $76,866 for construction of Sub Health Post Buildings in Kavrepalanchok district.
The grant was given to the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Japan, in Japan’s fiscal year 2006.
A press release issued by the Japanese Embassy in Kathmandu said, ADRA Japan, in close coordination with ADRA Nepal will implement the project.
A grant contract to this effect was signed and exchanged between Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Tsutomu Hiraoka and Program Manager of ADRA Japan Tetsuo Hayashi amidst a function on Thursday.
The grant will be utilized for the construction of eight sub health post buildings, one in each VDC of Balthali, Koshideka, Kushadevi, Mahendrajyoti, Patlekhet, Phoolbari, Rayale, and Tukucha Nala VDCs in Kavrepalanchok District, the statement added.
Speaking at the function, Japanese envoy Hiraoka reiterated the necessity of improving the basic health services and medical facilities of rural Nepal.
He also expressed his belief that this project will benefit the local community and contributes to improving the health environment in the area, and will allow a better response to the communities’ demand for health services. nepalnews.com pb Oct 12 06
