Maoists misbehave with journalists covering summit talks

Maoist cadres misbehaved with journalists who had reached at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar to cover the fourth round of the SPA-Maoists summit talks.

Maoist cadres denied entry to journalists even from the road in front of the Nepal Rastra Bank leading to the road of the Prime Minister’s residence for covering the crucial meeting. They also mistreated some journalists trying to assemble there to collect news.

Our correspondent said from the scene that Maoist cadres chanted slogans in the area and were prohibiting entry of others in the area.

President of Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ), Bishnu Nisthuri, who reached at the scene, said the FNJ had taken the incident seriously.

He said that the SPA and the Maoists should take responsibility for the mistreatment of journalists. nepalnews.com pb/sd Oct 15 06
