Business shutdown irresponsible, says Finance Minister
Finance Minister Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat has termed the decision of the business community to go ahead with shutdown as irresponsible.
"I don't know what compulsions they had to stick with the shutdown plan," said Dr. Mahat talking to journalists this morning.
When asked why the government did not give 'written commitment' as demanded by the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Dr. Mahat replied that the government had already given 'public commitment' to fulfill the assurance that it had given to the FNCCI regarding the latter's demands.
"In fact, we have already dispatched circulars about this," he said, adding that the government is always willing to sort out the problems through talks. nepalnews.com sd Oct 17 06
