Summit talks soon after PM’s return from Biratnagar: Home Minister
Home Minister and government’s talks team coordinator Krishna Prasad Sitaula today said the next round of summit talks between the seven-party alliance (SPA) and the CPN (Maoist) would begin as soon the Prime Minister returns from Biratnagar.
Talking to reporters after a programme in Kathmandu, Sitaula said, “Homework for the summit meeting is almost over. The meeting will take place immediately after the Prime Minister returns from Biratnagar.” Preparations for the next round of summit talks continued even during the Tihar festival, he said.
Prime Minister GP Koirala is in his hometown Biratnagar since Monday. He is scheduled to return to the capital within a couple of days, it is learnt.
Maoist talks team coordinator Krishna Bahadur Mahara is currently in London along with some SPA leaders.
The fourth round of summit meeting held on October 15 was deferred indefinitely after the two sides failed to reach consensus on monarchy and the issue of arms management. nepalnews.com mk Oct 26 06
