New committee to probe King's property
The Parliamentary Natural Resources Committee (NRC) has decided to urge the government to form a high level investigation committee to handle the issue of King's property.
The NRC made the decision to suggest the government for forming a high level committee after it failed to receive information from 32 districts on the King's land and properties.
"We will recommend the government to take proper steps immediately after we receive a report from the task force headed by lawmaker Subash Karmacharya."
One of the members of the committee, lawmaker, Anand Pokhrel said that the concerned ministries and officials didn't cooperate with the committee, adding, "None of them provided any information to our queries."
The committee had already received details from 43 districts where nearly 63,000 ropani of land is in the name of the King and royal family members.
After depriving the King from all his royal prerogatives through the historic proclamation of the parliament, the parliament is all set to nationalize the King's property. nepalnews.com pb Oct 28 06
