Nepal Telecom is the largest tax payer
In the last fiscal year, the Nepal Telecom paid over Rs 6 billion as different taxes to the government – becoming the largest tax payer in the country.
In the fiscal year 2062/63 (2005/06), NT paid Rs 6.17 billion as Value Added Tax (VAT), service tax, ownership tax, accumulated profit, income tax, dividend and royalty.
In the previous fiscal year 2061/62 (2204/05), the NT had paid Rs 7.19 billion to the government.
