Acharya camp demands special convention in NC
With the objective of making republic as the major policy of Nepali Congress (NC), campaigners for republic within the party have demanded special general convention or the meeting of Mahasamiti (general committee).
"The special general convention or Mahasamiti meeting will also determine the party's manifesto when it goes for the elections of Constituent Assembly," said Narahari Acharya, a leader of the Democratic Republic Campaigners.
Likewise, Gagan Thapa, a student leader and another leader of the campaign, informed that in order to press party president Girija Prasad Koirala to adopt republican line, 100,000 signatures of active youth members of the party will be submitted to him soon.
