Mha Puja organised in London
Pasa Puchah Guthi UK celebrated Mha Puja, Nepal Sambat 1127 last week at the Ealing Town Hall in London .
According to the organisers, over 500 people from across the UK took part in the colourful function.
Charge d' Affairs at the Nepali embassy in London, Dipendra Pratap Bista, Mayor of Ealing, Mrs Dainne Pagan, Speaker of the reinstated House of Representatives, Subash Nembang, other dignitaries and representatives of various Nepali organisations in UK also took part in the function.
Addressing the function, speakers highlighted the importance of such cultural activities out of the country and expressed confidence that they would contribute towards preserving culture and promoting unity and harmony among the Nepalis wherever they are.
General Secretary of Pasa Puchah Guthi UK, Manisha Dangol Shrestha, said the organisers were happy to note that the number of participants in the Mha Puja celebrations were increasing every year. She also thanked the guests, contributors, sponsors, advertisers, artists, volunteers, and all those who made the function a success.
Newari foods were distributed to the participants at the end of the ceremony.
Mha Puja signifies the worship of the inner self and is an important festival of the Newar community. It is organised for the purification, strengthening and understanding of oneself.
