The book was also displayed in the Jiri of Dolakha district on 30th and 31st March as part of its nationwide exhibition tour.

After Chautara the book will be displayed in Lahan. The exhibition will be held in Ilam, Narayanghat, Nepalgunj, Dhangadi, Tansen, and Pokhara before concluding in Kathmandu.

Nepa-laya, the publisher of the book, is organising the exhibitions to disseminate the message of peace to a much wider audience. The traveling show will display pictures that show the human and material cost of ten years of conflict and help bring lasting peace in the country.

Nepa-laya is partnering with local chapters of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists to also organise interaction programmes for local media and photojournalists in all ten venues of the exhibition.

"All the pictures show us the waste and ruin that violence brings, but also the resilience and inner strength of Nepalis and the exhibition will be a testimony of this," says Nepa-laya's Kiran Krishna Shrestha.

According to organiser, more than 5,000 visitors observed the 2-day long exhibition in Jiri.

Kunda Dixit, who envisioned the book, said he was touched by the comments left on the guest book by the visitors in the Jiri exhibition. Most of the comments were very emotional with the people saddened by the loss of life and destruction brought about by the war. The visitors also wrote that they don't want such a war ever again in Nepal, Dixit added. nepalnews.com pb/dr Apr 03 07
