Moriarty, Martin meet with PM; talks focus on CA
American ambassador James Moriarty met with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala on Friday morning.
Reports say he discussed a range of political issues including the Constituent Assembly elections with the PM.
He is learnt to have told Koirala to resolve issues of Madhes and other communities before announcing the date for CA polls.
PM Koirala's foreign affairs adviser Suresh Chalise informed that there was no specific agenda for the meeting and that they discussed all current political issues.
Earlier, UNMIN chief Ian Martin also met with the Prime Minister. He is said to have briefed the completion of storage and registration of weapons of Nepali Army (NA). The UNMIN had completed the storage and registration of NA's arms on Thursday. He said that the UNMIN was now preparing to start the second phase of verification of Maoist combatants.
