Seven parties registered with EC

Seven political parties filed their applications at the Election Commission for registration on Wednesday.

Parties applying for registration today are: CPN (Marxist Leninist), Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Anandi Devi), CPN (United), Rastriya Janata Dal, Nepal Samata Party, Dalit Janajati Party and Hariyali Nepal Party.

CPN (ML) and CPN (United), which are constituents of the United Left Front, and the NSP (A) are part of the eight-party ruling coalition.

Nepal Samata Party and Hariyali Nepal Party are led by former royalist ministers Nayansingh Pun and Kuber Sharma, respectively.

According to EC spokesperson Laxman Bhattarai, 23 political parties have been registered with the EC till today. nepalnews.com mk Apr 25 07
