Rayamajhi Commission report to be presented at the parliament

The cabinet meeting on Wednesday morning decided to table the Rayamajhi Commission report at the parliament within a few days.

The cabinet decided to ask Home Minister to make the report public.

The cabinet decision comes in the wake of ruling by Speaker Subas Nemwang regarding immediate release of the report.

The report was prepared by a commission led by former Supreme Court judge Krishna Jung Rayamajhi a year ago by probing the allegations of repression against the people's movement in April last year.

There were widespread demands by the MPs, as well as civil society activists for immediate release of the report.

Meanwhile, the cabinet also discussed the code of conduct for the forthcoming election.

The cabinet discussed the issue of floods and landslides. It also appealed to all to help in the rescue and relief of flood victims.
