Dolakha debacle prompts Maoists to announce 'exposure' campaign
A day after withdrawing the indefinite strike they announced in Dolakha, Maoists have announced that they would start what they called an 'exposure' (bhandafor) campaign to bring to public eye the reality behind the Dolakha incident that caught so much media glare.
Maoist district secretary 'Kripashwor' informed that the party has decided to go ahead with aforementioned programme to 'blow the cover' of the local administration and also show that the palace elements are "still active".
Calling a press meet in Dolakha Thursday, district secretary 'Kripashwor' said that the 'highhandedness' of the local administration was responsible behind the Sunday's incident in which the party cadres were arrested for thrashing up the Chief District Officer Uddhav Bahadur Thapa. He also accused CDO Thapa of having 'direct links' with the palace.
Saying that the party would 'politically boycott' CDO Thapa, he said that until their three-point demands are not met - chief among which is the immediate release of their party cadres arrested in the incident - they would not cooperate with the local administration.
Kripashwor also said that few among the party cadres arrested during Sunday's incident were seriously injured and that they have not received any kind of proper medical treatment. nepalnews.com ag Aug 02 07
