Curfew in Inaruwa as locals clash with police

The district administration of Sunsari imposed six-hour curfew in Inaruwa Municipality from 1:00 pm Thursday after the locals clashed with the police.

The curfew order came after the local residents, who have been displaced by recent floods, protested against last evening's police action during their demonstration. 70 years old Kusmi Devi Sada died, reportedly due to police beating, while over 40 others were injured in the ensuing clash.

The locals carried out angry protests against the police action and the local administration this morning. They gheroed the district administration office and the district hospital and announced indefinite protest against ‘police brutality’. nepalnews.com mk Aug 02 07
