Diarrhea outbreak in Nuwakot and Sarlahi turns severe
One person has died and several others have fallen seriously ill due to the diarrhea outbreak in Madanpur VDC of Nuwakot district since last week.
Arjun Prasad Pandey, 55, of Madanpur V.D.C -6 died after a serious bout of the disease that has spread due to consumption of contaminated drinking water and unhygienic food with the start of the rainy season. Ten more villagers of Madanpur VDC have been seriously gripped by the disease, reports say.
Similarly, more than 200 villagers have been seriously affected due to diarrhea and viral fever in Manpur VDC of Sarlahi district.
Local residents said in the past one week alone three person have died due to diarrhea.
Minister of Health Giriraj Mani Pokharel who visited the villages affected by the epidemic in the district yesterday promised that the government would not let any shortcoming arise in the treatment of those afflicted with the disease. nepalnews.com ag Aug 05 07
