Court employees end strike

Employees at courts around the country agreed to return to their work following negotiation with the Supreme Court administration on Tuesday.

The Court Employees’ Concern Committee (CECC), under which the agitating employees were associated, decided to end the strike after the SC administration agreed to review the recent transfer of three SC officials to Terai districts.

They had announced strike after CECC chairman, Binod Adhikari, and two others were transferred to restive Terai for raising their voice against irregularities in an IT project at the apex court.

Though the SC administration refused to cancel the transfers it agreed to adjust the three officials in Bhaktapur District Court, Labour Court and Administrative Court.

SC registrar Ram Krishna Timilsina was also present in the negotiation. The SC staffers had blamed him for the unjust transfers and had demanded his resignation.

All non-gazetted court employees had gone on strike since last three days, brining the works at courts to a halt. nepalnews.com mk Aug 07 07
