Nation's image will take a beating if polls put off again, says CEC
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Bhojraj Pokharel has said that the image of Nepal will be damaged in international sector if the election is put off again.
CEC Pokharel made these comments at a time when many political actors are still doubting the possibility of holding Constituent Assembly (CA) elections on November 22.
"The election was first scheduled for June, which has now been put off to November. If it is postponed again, image of the nation will be damaged in national and international level," Pokharel said at a programme organised to inform about materials produced for raising election awareness on Tuesday.
Pokharel urged parties to create political atmosphere for the election. He said all parties should utilise CA election as a means of transforming the conflict into peace. nepalnews.com sd Aug 08 07
