Mid-Marshyangdi to be delayed by two years

The still under construction Mid-Marshyangdi hydro project is to be delayed by another two years, Kantipur Daily reports.

The project contractor and consultant have informed the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) that the project would be completed only by January 2009 citing bandhs, protests and transportation strikes. The hydro electricity project was earlier targeted to be completed by December 2007.

Since the project has already been delayed by 4 years, the NEA is set to incur a loss of Rs 5 billion. nepalnews.com ag Aug 08 07
