Anandidevi withdraws 'recall letter'; Mahato to continue as minister

Adding to the air of mystery surrounding the whole episode, the Nepal Sadbhavana Party (NSP-Anandidevi) has now vacated its two-day-old decision to 'recall' its sole representative at the cabinet, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Rajendra Mahato.

Announcing overturning of her earlier decision, the president of NSP-A, Anandidevi Singh has now decided not to recall the Minister and has, instead, asked him to continue with effective role as minister.

The latest decision was made at late-night meeting of the national executive committee of the party held on Wednesday.

Earlier, on Monday, Singh had written a letter to the Prime Minister informing about the decision to 'recall' Mahato. The Minister was accused of failure to act on the Madhesi cause. Despite the letter, Minister Mahato had said that he will not resign till the national executive committee of the party asks him to do so. nepalnews.com sd Aug 09 07
